📐 How to Measure Your Wrist

1
Get a flexible measuring tape (or a strip of paper).
2
Wrap it around the narrowest part of your wrist — just below the wrist bone (styloid process).
3
Keep the tape snug but not tight. Note the measurement in cm or inches.
4
Measure your dominant hand (the hand you write with) for most accurate results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does frame size matter for weight goals?
Frame size affects bone density and muscle attachment, meaning people with larger frames naturally weigh more at a given height. Ideal weight tables and calculators that don't account for frame size may set unrealistic targets. A large-framed person may healthily weigh 5–10 kg more than a small-framed person of the same height.
Can I change my body frame size?
No. Body frame size is determined by bone structure, which is largely genetic and fixed after puberty. You can change your body composition (muscle and fat), but the underlying skeletal frame remains the same throughout adult life.
Which measurement is more accurate — wrist or elbow?
The elbow breadth method is considered more accurate, as it directly measures bone width and is less affected by body fat accumulation. However, wrist circumference is more practical and still provides a reliable estimate when measured correctly at the narrowest point.
